But what does "holistic" mean, really? We probably won't OM together and burn incense during our sessions (unless of course you want to, and then it's on!). We will, however, assess your health from many angles - nutrition, environment, emotions, and lifestyle will all be considered. Everything is connected! Did you know that your digestion shuts down when you are stressed??? This is just one small example of the mind / body connection. Holistic nutrition utilizes a whole foods based approach to health, focusing on seasonal, organic, and unprocessed food in its natural state to support the body in the most nutritious way possible. Emphasis is also placed on finding the root cause of a health issue, rather than only masking the related symptoms. The Whole Nikole approach will provide you with the tools and support to be the healthiest version of you. I want you to thrive; not just survive!

One person's liquid gold can be another person's kryptonite. Every person processes food and utilizes nutrients in a unique way based on genetics, biochemical makeup, and environment. Consider this fact, and then consider the hundreds of "diet programs" out there. Paleo, Atkins, Vegetarian, Vegan, Mediterranean, Blood Type, South Beach, Weight Watchers - how in the heck do you figure out which one to follow? I believe that for most people, it's not a "one diet fits all" solution. Getting healthy doesn't have to be a drag (and your food doesn't have to taste like cardboard)! I work hard to make sure my clients' programs are enjoyable, with delicious food and fun exercise recommendations. This is another reason why it's so important to have a personalized program - I get to know your lifestyle and food preferences, and create a healthy program filled with foods you love! I also believe in a low pressure and very supportive environment. I am a firm believer that lifelong changes (the ones that REALLY stick) occur slowly and one step at a time. With that in mind, I encourage all of my clients to have patience with themselves. We will celebrate every success, no matter how small!
